Raj Shekhar is a DataEthics4All Top 100 DIET Champion 2021, and the Founder & Executive Director at AI Policy Exchange. Raj is an Affiliated Scholar at CITRIS Policy Lab, University of California, Berkeley, collaborating with Dr. Brandie Nonnecke (Founding Director) on research related to the governance of artificial intelligence. He recently also joined International Innovation Corps (IIC) of The University of Chicago as Consultant (Data, AI) to support operations of the Open Data Working Group, an initiative by IDFC Institute and IIC, and IIC's engagement with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology aimed at building capacity for data and AI innovation through policy and program implementation. Earlier last year, Raj was featured as a leader in the Responsible Tech ecosystem in the Responsible Tech Guide brought out by All Tech Is Human in partnership with NYU’s Alliance for Public Interest Technology. He also sits on the Founding Editorial Board of Springer Nature's AI and Ethics Journal.
