Shilpi Agarwal is an international award-winning AI ethics leader and the ‘Women in AI Champion for North America 2025‘.
Forbes 50>50 Impact Nominee 2025, Shilpi was named one of ASU+GSV’s Women Leading the AI Revolution in Education, selected as a finalist for the Women Leaders in Data and AI Award, and earned the U.S. Presidential Volunteer Service Lifetime Achievement Award for her lifelong commitment to community impact.
As the Founder and CEO of the DataEthics4All Foundation, Shilpi leads one of the most forward-thinking organizations in AI education, responsible innovation, and ethics with members from 71 Countries across the globe in their Community. Through its flagship initiative, STEAM in AI, she is empowering the next generation of tech leaders with the skills and mindset to build AI that serves society ethically and inclusively.
A trusted voice in the global conversation around responsible technology, Shilpi is a highly sought-after keynote speaker on the ethics of AI and Generative AI. She has delivered plenary talks for the U.S. Military, the California Department of Education, and led influential roundtables and panels at SXSW EDU, the GSV + ASU AI Summit, and the Computer Science Teachers Association (CSTA).
She was a featured presenter at the NeurIPS Women in Machine Learning Conference and currently serves as a Pie & AI Ambassador for DeepLearning.AI, where she has been recognized as a leader building a global network of AI hubs.
Shilpi holds a degree in Computer Science from the National Institute of Technology and a Master’s in Design from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IITB). With this unique blend of technical acumen and design thinking, she brings an interdisciplinary lens to her work in AI ethics, workforce development, and education reform.
She has served as an Adjunct Faculty member at Stanford University and UC Berkeley, and actively mentors student entrepreneurs through the MIT $100K Entrepreneurship Competition and Santa Clara University’s Design Thinking Lab.
Her leadership extends beyond education into ethical governance and enterprise impact. She is an invitation-only member of the World Economic Forum’s Responsible Use of Technology Initiative, where she helped shape the future of technology policy. As Chair of the Chief Data Officers Summit at Stanford University, she convened enterprise leaders to advance ethical and responsible data practices at scale.
In 2025, Shilpi served as a Grand Judge at the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) in the Robotics and Machine Learning category, playing a key role in awarding breakthrough youth innovation. She was also a Judge for the Intercollegiate Ethics Bowl, where she supported values-based debate on real-world dilemmas.
Through every platform—whether speaking, mentoring, or building scalable education programs—Shilpi remains laser-focused on one mission: to ensure that the future of AI is not just innovative, but also ethical, inclusive, and human-centered.
