Raquel Tamez is a DataEthics4All Top 100 DIET Champion 2021, and the CEO for the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers. Raquel's organization, SHPE, has a unique, transformative mission: using STEM awareness, access, and support to empower the Hispanic community to realize its full potential—and change the world. Prior to joining SHPE, Raquel spent nearly 20 years in legal roles, in both the public and private sector. As chief legal officer and general counsel, she provided leadership on everything from board governance and risk management to regulatory, compliance, information governance and litigation. She has formulated and executed successful strategies, built and led high-performing teams, and managed a diverse workforce capable of achieving the organization’s mission and goals over the course of her entire career.
