Michelle Carney is a DataEthics4All Top 100 DIET Champion 2021, and a Senior UX Researcher for Machine Learning + AI at Google. Michelle is a computational neuroscientist turned UX Practitioner who is focused on how data drives design decisions and how to design human-centered experiences for data science and machine learning. Michelle is a former fellow of Center for Technology, Society & Policy and Algorithmic Fairness and Opacity Group at Berkeley. Michelle has extensive research background and a passion for combining data science and UX, and helping others learn and succeed. She enjoys spending her time participating in meetup groups focused on getting underrepresented groups into tech, teaching coding, and mentoring.
