Associate Dean of Engineering at San Jose State University
Jinny Rhee is the Associate Dean in the College of Engineering at San Jose State University, where she oversees the undergraduate programs, student success, and operations of the college. Her current projects include research on how engineering identity development, guided pathways advising, and other student engagement strategies impact retention and graduation rates in engineering degree programs. In addition, she is developing pathways into emerging digital fields including data analytics, cybersecurity, and machine learning in collaboration with the Business Roundtable and Business Higher Education Forum; the pathways all have a substantial demand for the understanding of data ethics and related topics. Prior to being the associate dean of the college, Jinny was a professor of mechanical engineering, and has been at SJSU since 2002.
